Developing a growth mindset takes time. It is not something that happens over night. I will need to constantly revisit the concepts of a growth mindset. What I have found through the semester is that students still want to fall back on past practices of a fixed mindset. I continue to push students to think out side of their fixed mindset. As they work through the class they build upon the understanding of a growth mindset.
Students need assurance that they are doing the right things when it comes to their learning. By giving constant feedback in the form of video or personal notes, I can help them feel confident in their learning. I feel as this is the biggest problem with developing a growth mindset. The students fear the unknown.
